Though he is now one of the most respected and in-demand realtors working in New York City, Rashid Bhuiyan didn’t initially plan on becoming a Realtor®. When his parents were selling their home, Rashid felt like they weren’t get- ting the service they deserved. Deciding he wanted to learn more
about the process, he began taking classes and was quickly hooked. He soon got his license, and real estate has been his passion for the past five years. “This business is all about help- ing people, and that’s why I love it. Everyone deserves to have a Realtor® who gives them an exceptional customer experi- ence, and there are a lot of us out there doing that. I want to be a great agent. My goal is to always change people’s minds if they’ve had a bad experience in the past.”
Rashid’s work has experienced rapid growth since starting, and he currently leads a small team. His wife Oksana became his partner, and they have an administrative assistant. They are currently in the process of training new recruits, and will hopefully be bringing on more agents in the coming year. Rashid specializes in the Brooklyn and Staten Island markets, and is currently looking to move into the lucrative northern New Jersey market next.
One of the keys to Rashid’s rapid success in the business is that he doesn’t see what he does as being sales work. For Rashid, it’s all about building relationships. “This isn’t just one transaction for me. I want to be their Realtor® for life. I’m working for my clients and they see that. I’m looking out for their best interests at all times. I don’t disappear once the transaction is over. I stay in contact with them in numerous
ways and always offer myself as a resource to them long after the active transaction.”
Rashid also takes an educational approach to working with clients that relies heavily on constant and clear communica- tion. “If you read my testimonials, most of my clients will say that I was there for them when they needed me. I always respond to texts and calls, and I communicate and explain the process throughout the entire transaction. I never want them to feel like they’re in the dark about anything. I do this every day, so it really is my job to make sure they understand what’s happening. I want the process to be as stress-free as possible.”
Another distinct advantage Rashid offers his clients is a comprehensive approach to marketing his listings. He hires professional photographers to show the property in the best light, and every marketing aspect is done to the highest level. He is always looking for ways to make his listings stand out by using innovative techniques that have given him an excellent track record of selling properties quickly and for top dollar.
Rashid believes strongly in giving back to his community and supports several local charities, including an organization that helps the homeless. When he isn’t working, he enjoys spend- ing time with his family and going camping.
Rashid couldn’t be more thrilled with how far he’s come in five years, and is excited about the future. “I want to continue to grow my business, but I also want to venture more into educating the community on the process of buying or selling a home. I love what I do. It’s so rewarding to be able to help people achieve their real estate dreams.”

The first time someone hired Rashid Bhuiyan to list and sell a house, he sold the property for more than asking price. Just a few months earlier, that same property was listed at the same price, but only garnered few low-ball offers that the previous agent insisted were the best the house could command. “I understood the comps and these offers just seemed wrong,” says Rashid, whose father was the seller. At the time, Rashid was studying for his real estate license and believed the agent wasn’t representing his father’s best interests. “When I got my license, we put it back on the market at the same price. I incorporated my knowledge from what I had done prior to getting my license,” he says, explaining his degree in marketing. With proper staging and advertising, a bidding war ensued.
Nearly five years later, Rashid is a top-producing Staten Island, New York, REALTOR earning Silver honors. He works with seller and buyers at any price point, either helping them fix up and sell or finding the perfect home for their lifestyle. “I like giving buyers and sellers an honest, fair transaction and moving them through a deal they’ll remember as a happy experience.” In addi- tion to running his independent real estate business with his wife, Oksana, through Tom Crimmins Realty, Rashid and his clients benefit from his strong business relationships with builders and contractors in the home improvement industry.
The Bhuiyans focus on Staten Island and Brooklyn, striving for excellence. “Some agents just want to look for a buyer or a seller, do the job and take their commission,” says Rashid. “But my cli- ents always tell me, ‘Rashid, you are actually here to help us!’ In a competitive market, I’m there for them and looking out for their best interests, making sure they’re happy at full arms-length transactions.” One way he shows his commitment is by going above and beyond. “If there are things to be done with a property, I’m more than willing to do it any way I have to,” he says. He further distinguishes himself with his knowledge of which home improvements can result in faster sales at higher sale prices.
Rashid has even authored three books on the topics of Home Improvements that Improve Values Ways to Advertise and Pro- mote your Home and How to Sell Your Home for More Money. After ensuring a home is market ready, Rashid spares no expense. “I market online any way possible,” he says, mentioning a host of online real estate portals plus his own website along with various social media outlets. “I also do a lot by word-of-mouth, emails, and networking.”
In addition, as community member who sought out Staten Island for its ideal family setting, Rashid speaks from the heart when helping sellers find buyers and buyers find homes. “I credit my life experience in Brooklyn and Staten Island for my ability to close transactions in these neighborhoods,” he says, noting the quality of life that includes abundant parks and recreation. Rashid and Oksana are very involved in their daughter’s education and extracurricular activities and also love traveling and camping. In addition, Rashid finds time to help locally however possible. “This community gives so much to us and we love giving back,” he says. Among their recent outreach efforts, the Bhuiyans led fundraising efforts raising $3,400 for Carl’s House, a center that helps prevent and stop drug use and offers support to those in recovery.
Extremely grateful for the success he has reached in only five years as a REALTOR, Rashid plans to continue to promote the unique way he does business. In the future, he may consider his own firm. But for now, he is thrilled to explore new ways to make people happy through smooth real estate experiences. “I want to build my brand and become a more recognized REALTOR ® not just in great sales but with more opportunities to help people,” he says. “I want to be remembered as a person who helps unconditionally and does the right thing when it comes helping people with their real estate transactions.”

The Real Estate profession might be one of the toughest careers around. However, with a lot of hard work, honesty, knowledge, and determination, it can be one of the most rewarding. Those who survive in this commission based profession have to love their job and persevere. Suzanne and I recently told our agents that our policy of surrounding ourselves with good people allow great things to happen. We are very proud of each and every agent and staff member because of these amazing people, Tom Crimmins Realty sold 532 homes in 2016 and opened a third location in the Tottenville area. We now have a presence in the North Shore, Mid-Island, and the South Shore. This past Thursday, March 23rd, SIBOR recognized Top Producers islandwide. These Top Producers represent the top 10% of sales in 2016. We are thrilled to say that we had 12 Top Producers in our company.

Carl’s House Receives $3,400 Donation From Community Partner Rashid Bhuiyan & Bhuiyan Properties

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, USA, January 19, 2017 / -- Rashid Bhuiyan & Bhuiyan Properties hosted an event at Fun Station on Staten Island to raise awareness about the drug epidemic the borough is facing. More than 400 people attended the event which featured entertainment for children, as well as a drug awareness seminar for adults moderated by volunteers from, Carl’s House, Staten Island's first and only free community drug resource center.
“We were pleased that so many people came out to support the event,” said Rashid Bhuiyan, Team Leader of Bhuiyan Properties. “Ultimately, through sponsorships we were able to raise over $3,000 which we are donating to Carl’s House so that they can continue raising awareness and helping those affected by substance abuse.”
The money generated from the event will be used to fund a series of seminars that Carl’s House will roll out at schools across the island.
“Drugs are a community issue,” said Marco DiDonna of Carl’s House. “We hope that by continuing to partner with organizations such as Bhuiyan Properties that we as a community can help educate our children and protect future generations from struggles with addiction.”
Carl’s House has already hosted sessions at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Tottenville High School, and St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School among others. The slate of future school visits is currently being built out for 2017.
